Introduction

This is the first posting on the blog for the 2010 expedition to Washington DC and Chicago.

We're looking forward to a week of campaigning, visits to some of the most political sites in the nation's capital and an opportunity to see first hand just how the electoral system works in the United States.

The most important timings being as follows:

1) Flight out is on United to Washington Dulles direct - LHR/IAD flight number UA925 departs 22nd October 1620 arrives 1941

2) Flight to Chicago is 24th October on United from Washington National to O'Hare  UA627 departs 1740 arrives 1847

3) Flight to London is UA928 (overnight) arriving  0825 on the morning of the 28th - the Thursday.

We'll be using this blog to update you on what is going on, what the issues are and as aform of web-based classroom for us all to catch up on election news, trends, commentary and so on.
